If you are a health conscious person, then you probably pay close attention to what you eat and drink. You maybe prefer to buy organic and natural foods to eat, so that your body can be at it’s best. But when it comes to hair care, we sometimes neglect the fact that over the counter hair products are often packed with harmful chemicals, and we go ahead and use them without even thinking. Today, let’s have a look at some great natural hair tips that can not only save you some cash, but are also simple and beneficial for the beauty of your locks.
1. Clarify your hair with baking soda
You’ll be surprised at just how much residue products like hairspray, conditioner and even shampoo can leave in your hair and, after a while, that residue can build up and leave your hair dry and lifeless. To get rid of that accumulation of products, mix two tablespoons of baking soda with half a cup of water and then massage the mixture into your hair and scalp. Leave it to sit on your hair for ten minutes and, when you rinse it out, your hair will be bouncy and shiny again.
2. Condition with honey
Honey is a truly amazing natural product and everyone should keep a jar of honey in their kitchen. As well as tasting great, honey also has strong antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and it’s also really good for rehydrating both the skin and the hair. If your hair has become dry and a bit dull looking, one of good natural hair tips is to try massaging a little bit of honey into your hair after you have shampooed it. Leave it to sit for about fifteen to thirty minutes and then rinse it again with warm water. You’ll find that it leaves your hair looking shiny and feeling soft.
3. Treat dandruff with aspirin
Store bought dandruff shampoo usually smells medicinal and it often leaves people’s scalp itching because it is so strong. For a much easier and more cost effective way to fight dandruff, crush up two aspirin tablets and mix it in with your usual shampoo. The salicylic acid in the aspirins will soon have the dandruff cleared up and you will be flake free again.
4. Nourish your hair with eggs
Eggs double up as a great treatment for dry and oily hair alike. All the proteins and healthy fats that they contain will feed and nourish your hair, leaving it looking healthy and beautiful. If your hair is oily, then use the egg whites only, but if your hair tends to get dry, then use the yolks of the eggs. Just whip up about half a cup of the whites or the yolks, depending on your hair type, apply it your hair, and leave it to sit for twenty minutes before you rinse it out with cool water and then shampoo.
5. Encourage hair growth with yoghurt
This is another one of fabulous natural hair tips. If you are worried about thinning hair, then yoghurt will provide you with a natural homemade remedy for that. Apply half a cup of plain yoghurt to your hair, wrap your head in a towel, and leave it for fifteen minutes and then wash it again. The probiotics in yoghurt will condition your hair and encourage the growth of strong healthy locks too. Yoghurt also helps by clarifying your hair as well.
