It’s an exciting day for People magazine fans. The publication has named Julia Roberts the World’s Most Beautiful Woman. It’s the fifth time Julia’s been given the coveted title, some 26 years after first gracing the magazine’s cover for its annual World’s Most Beautiful issue. As People notes, if you’re keeping count, Julia is ahead of her BFF George Clooney in the Most Beautiful department, as he’s only been Sexiest Man Alive twice. She tells the magazine, “I’m going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year.” (While we’re at it, send me one too, please).
In the cover story, Julia opens up about the early days of her career, after Pretty Woman made her one of the most sought-out actresses in Hollywood. According to Julia, she was actually out of town shooting another film when Pretty Woman was released. “I remember reading… ‘Pretty Woman came out this weekend and made this much money’ and I thought, ‘Is that a lot of money? Is that good? Is that great?’ I didn’t really know.”
This year’s other Most Beautiful recipients include Oprah, Carrie Underwood, Mandy Moore, Viola Davis, Emma Watson, Taraji P. Henson, and Chrissy Metz. Jennifer Aniston was the World’s Most Beautiful Woman in 2016.
